Vive la France and New York City!

Late summer is filled with exciting exhibitions that will feature my paintings…..
I am honored to participate in the upcoming exhibition, Homage to Matisse: A Voyage in Shape, Color and Light. The exhibition takes place in Nice, France and honors the fiftieth anniversary of the Matisse Museum. In addition to eight major venues that will be celebrating the works of Matisse, independent galleries have also scheduled exhibitions. My painting, Trois Citrons et un Baiser (Three Lemons and a Kiss) was juried into a gallery exhibition that runs from August 22 to September 15, 2013. It is thrilling to know that my painting will be honoring one of the key artists that has influenced my artwork.

In addition to Homage to Matisse , I will be spending September in Nice as one of eight artists chosen to participate in the Artist Riviera Project residency program. During my stay in Nice I will spend time creating a painting that will be inspired by the light and colors of the Mediterranean and by the “art de vivre” of the French Riviera. The painting that I create will be on exhibition in 2014 at a venue most consistent with the objective and artwork created.
Perhaps I will be influenced by the Mediterranean to create a painting of the sea:

The 124th Annual Exhibition of the National Association of Women Artists (NAWA) will take place in New York City from August 27th to September 28th at the Sylvia Wald & Po Kim Art Gallery, 417 Lafayette Street, 4th Floor. I invite those of you who live in Manhattan and the New York City area to visit this compelling exhibition.
