The first quarter of 2017 has been filled with opportunities to exhibit my artwork and to pursue my passion for human rights.
It is a great honor to exhibit several of my paintings in the upcoming exhibit, Celebrating Women of Courage, that will take place at the Ukrainian National Museum, 2249 W. Superior St., Chicago 60612. The exhibition features photography, paintings, mixed media, poetry and short films of and by over 15 courageous artists from across the country who have overcome extreme difficulties in their lives. Many of the artists in this group exhibition are U.S. Veterans, Native Americans, and cancer survivors. It is a celebration of women who inspire others and pays homage to Women’s History Month.
Exhibition Dates: March 10- March 31st.
Opening Reception: Friday, March 10 • 7-9 pm • Reception admission $10
Viewing hours: Thursday thru Sunday (11 am- 4 pm) • Museum admission: $5.00 (children under 12 free)
In support of my Women of Courage series of paintings, I have launched a Go Fund Me project. The project has become a cultural mosaic that has traveled throughout the United States, and has become a significant public art project. The exhibition has been on view both in part and in its entirety. Venues include Chicago’s Mayor Daley Civic Center (entire collection), university galleries and museums. Very often university venues add an educational component regarding the the strength of women and the influence on society. Donations are needed to continue the “Women of Courage” story. Shipping, artwork maintenance and climate control storage are all costs that have made this project a challenge. Your immediate support will ensure that others will have the opportunity to enjoy the exhibit and that the legacy will continue for years to come. You will have the opportunity to continue the thread of humanity., and I will be forever grateful.
