During the beginning of the conflict in Iraq, Al Mubarak remarked, in reference to her Muslim attire, that her head is covered but not her brain. Her poignant comment inspired me to explore the challenges of women, from a global perspective. Her words urged me to imagine living in a different culture and summoned me to share my discovery.
